Technical Assessing makes Key Appointments
One of Australia’s oldest and most respected loss adjusting firms, Technical Assessing Pty Ltd is pleased to announce a number of key appointments that will strengthen the firm’s offering to clients.
The appointments reflect Technical Assessing’s determination to further strengthen its highly skilled technical expertise and to invest for future growth.

These appointments will strengthen the advice we provide clients”, says founder, Steve Nance.
“I am moving to Chairman to spend more time on mentoring staff, and working on strengthening our cross functional team so that clients can get even stronger nuanced and technical advice.”
David Cambridge, as the new Managing Director, will be strengthening our day to day operation as well as expanding our business opportunities. He understands Technical Assessing exceptionally well having worked as a corporate adviser to the firm. David Cambridge has previously worked within one of the big four accounting firms where he co-developed performance improvement workshops for CEOs and business owners.
“David will be implementing the agenda set up the Board and a plan that David was deeply involved in framing. The plan seeks to invest in skills, strengthen the linkages between our national network of offices and continue to provide rigorous and reliable assessments to clients”, says Chairman, Steve Nance.
In other appointments, Clayton Stabe, who is a lawyer has joined the team in Queensland as a Senior Liability Adjuster. In NSW, Anthony Herron also a lawyer, with a background in insurance and construction law, joins as an Executive Loss Adjuster and In-House Counsel. Jason Olivo, a Civil Engineer, also joins the NSW team as a Senior Engineering Adjuster. Along with construction, Jason will also be involved in Professional Indemnity matters.
In Victoria a new state manager has been appointed to replace Steve Hodge, who will step down in mid/late 2018. Steve’s replacement, will be announced formally in the New Year and comes with extensive international experience. We look forward to updating our clients further on this strategic appointment early in 2018.
Managing Director, David Cambridge said Technical Assessing’s work is being strengthened by the creation of a more cohesive approach to cross functional teams.
“I have recently appointed practice leaders in Liability, Property, Construction and Marine to not only strengthen our brand but also to focus teams in their various specialisations. We have the right practice leaders who can reach across our various state offices and bring together the right team for the right project.
“We are seeing new permeations of what clients are requiring and we are responding to that.
“Technical Assessing had its best year in 2017. These appointments provide the foundation for further growth in 2018 and will ensure that clients can continue to look to us to provide rigorous analysis and workable solutions for the most complex situations”.

In 2017, David became Technical Assessing’s Managing Director and in mid-2020, he led the Management Buyout (MBO) with the key management team. Since the MBO, David has overseen TA’s expansion and delivered a revamped rebrand which included a new positioning statement of Talent Chooses UsTM to better reflect the belief that our people choose to work at TA.
