David joined Technical Assessing in 2012 to establish a Perth based operation.

David commenced his working career as an apprentice Electrical Fitter with the West Australian Government Railways in 1976. During an almost 11 year period with the railways, David gained additional qualifications in power station and distribution management and pursued a particular interest in Occupational Health management. He ultimately became a project manager on complex projects before leaving in 1986 to join Machinery Insurance Services (MIS) as an Insurance Engineer.

In ten years with MIS David managed underwriting, claims and risk surveys for a diverse portfolio of engineering risks including all facets of mining and construction, rising to the position of State Manager. When MIS ceased operation in 1996, David joined Relectronic Remech to establish a Perth based operation servicing both Australian and Asian projects for this highly specialised loss recovery company. David managed multi million dollar losses, both land based and marine throughout Australia and Asia in his 6 years with the company.

David then spent a year as a Marine Adjuster before joining CGU to manage their portfolio of construction and engineering risks, doing so successfully for 10 years, achieving rapid profitable growth while refining and modernising their product offerings and building claims and risk management capability.

David’s Insurance career has had an engineering and construction focus seeing him gain experience in loss and risk management across the full scope of engineering and marine products including liability and business interruption. David has had a hands on involvement in a wide variety of large losses including power generation, marine hull and cargo, construction, mining, energy, mobile plant, electro-medical and electronics.
