  • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator

EXPERIENCE

Gareth graduated from the University of Wales, Cardiff in 2004 with an honours degree in Geology. During this time Gareth worked as a part time surveyor’s assistant, becoming familiar with surveyor processes and procedures.

On graduation, Gareth was employed by a Welsh construction company as an assistant geotechnical engineer, performing a variety of site investigations, and providing advice and recommendations regarding a wide range of construction issues, including foundation design and excavation support.

Wishing to become more experienced across the geological spectrum, Gareth moved into the mining industry, carrying out exploration geology and geotechnical engineering duties on a limestone quarry. Gareth moved to Australia in 2008. He first entered the Insurance industry as a claims handler for Comminsure but was quickly moved into more senior roles dealing with large loss claims including the Victorian bushfire claims of 2009. Gareth moved back into the mining industry in 2011 as an exploration geologist working on mine sites throughout Australia, including sites in Tasmania, Queensland, New South Wales, and South Australia. Gareth joined Technical Assessing in 2012.
